Go alone.
find unrivaled peace on a solo safari.
Alone but never lonely.
Freed from the constraints of group dynamics, solo travelers can fully immerse themselves in the rhythms of the African wilderness, embracing the serenity and solitude of the bush. A liberating and enriching experience, a solo safari offers a unique opportunity for self-discovery and exploration.
Whether it’s lingering longer at a waterhole to observe the intricate interactions of wildlife or embarking on impromptu game drives to chase the elusive sight of a leopard, solo adventurers have the flexibility to tailor their safari experience to their preferences – and to change those preferences at any moment.
Foster a deep sense of connection with nature, amidst the vast savannahs and towering acacia trees, solo safari travelers often find solace and clarity, gaining a deeper appreciation for the beauty and intricacy of the natural world.
On your safari, you’ll enjoy the benefits of traveling solo, without ever feeling lonely. Lodges abound with staff that are helpful, knowledgeable and excited to share with you this place they call home. Many safari-goers love to get to know the other guests staying at the lodge or sharing their game drive vehicles.
The best safari destinations for those traveling alone are wide and plentiful. Whether you are seeking wilderness and serenity or an adventure filled with activity, there is a safari destination for you – and a safari lodge or camp that will provide for you exactly what you want.
It can be – but doesn’t have to be! There are some safari camps that do not make allowancs for single travelers. In your research, you may have come across the term ‘Solo Supplement’. Safari room rates are most often calculated for two guests sharing a room – factoring in meals, room maintenance and operation costs of the lodge and staff. As a solo traveler, you won’t pay this full rate, but rather a ‘per person not sharing’ to cover the lodge’s costs. This ‘single supplement’ can be an additional 25-75% of the per person rate. As that room could have been occupied by two guests, the lodge often needs to charge you, the solo safari-goers, a small fee to cover that cost of an empty bed.
This is why working with a specialist safari travel agent is imperative as a solo traveler. We have a trusted network of suppliers and know which lodges will fulfill your wildest dreams, while keeping your bank account in check.
