Mike we had a great time – – Matt, the camps, the game, service etc. were as good as it gets! No question but we’ll return someday and add on Namibia and Victoria Falls.

South Africa trip was fantastic
Hi Mike,
The trip was fantastic. I hope to return to South Africa someday.
Four Rosmead was excellent +++. Fabulous location and personal service. The rooms were great and breakfasts were topnotch. When I return to Cape Town, I will stay there. I am glad we opted for a City Bowl guest house rather than a waterfront hotel.Continue reading
Mind blowing Botswana!
The safari was mind-blowing. Every day was unique and fantastical and we kept reminding ourselves that it was all really happening.

Fascinating countries
Dear Michael,
Although I have not had the pleasure of meeting you, I wanted to send a note of thanks to you and the others at Safari + Company who were responsible for assisting in the planning and organization of our amazing trip to South Africa and Botswana. Every detail was thought of, with the result that the trip went very smoothly and the people responsible for meeting and guiding us were excellent. We enjoyed our accommodations everywhere and were delighted with our Botswana safaris. So thanks to one and all for what will remain one of our most memorable trips. They are both fascinating countries.
With our thanks,
P and D H
Namibia gets better each time
Hi Mike and Nigel, Each trip to Namibia gets better than the last. In spite of the fact that my checked bag did not arrive in Windhoek the trip got off to a good start. I enjoy staying at Hilltop and eating breakfast overlooking a valley and enjoying the birds. Wendy Wilson picked me up at the Ongava air strip, it was good to see a familiar face. She and her husband were the managers when I was there three years ago. There was a single female lion that we met several times including with other vehicles. We left to see what else we could see eventually returning to where we saw the lioness. Barnabus our guide stopped the vehicle when he saw her approaching. She started to call softly then sat down twenty feet from our vehicle. Soon after she got up and joined up with her three cubs. No one else was there and we were excited with our experience.Continue reading
Trip was great!
Hi, Mike,
The trip was great! We were very happy with the itinerary, the travel arrangements and the lodging selected. With the exception of a couple of minor air charter delays (a 1+ hour delay out of Livingston and a 1 hour delay from Lunga because the air craft would only accommodate 4 passengers. All of the transfers and rendezvous went very smoothly.Continue reading
Oh my God!
You know how much I was looking forward to the camps and how excited I was – all I can say is it was a million times better than I expected!!! Meerkats sitting on my head; two three month old lion cubs; elephants within touching distance as I relax in the sala; two adult female lions within touching distance from the vehicle; a pride of 14 lions setting out in the dusk for a night of hunting; a mother leopard playing with a cub 5 feet away from us; the most hospitable, friendly people I have ever met. As you can tell, I could go on for ever!Continue reading
Magical honeymoon!
Dear Michael,
Thanks for the note…we are having to hit the ground running to catch up with all the work we’ve missed but the trip was absolutely magical!
We were met on time and with great care by the Nomad representative upon our arrival in Dar. The Movenpick was just fine, quick nap before our early departure to the Selous the next morning. Again an easy and pleasurable transfer to the airport in the morning. The representative took care of all our paper work and stayed with us until we boarded the plane. The quick flight to the Kiba airstrip was quick and easy. We were met buy our private guide for the next 4 days at the airstrip and off we went. The Sand Rivers was fantastic! The room was very nice. They were a little rushed upon our arrival due to departing guests and a batch of new arrivals so I guess we didn’t get met in the “perfect” Sand Rivers way but we were so excited we didn’t really notice.Continue reading
Impeccable service
We returned three days ago and wanted to send some feedback. It was a wonderful trip – Rovos Rail is quite an experience, impeccable service and comfort. Food is wonderful and there is a wide array of visits, lectures, etc along the way.
Zanzibar was fascinating – Nomads provided excellent service and the guides could not have been better – very knowledgeable with great information and communication skills. We stayed at 236 Hurumzi (formerly Emerson and Green) which is unique and extraordinary – every room different with lots of trappings from the days when it belonged to a sultan. One thing I would mention is the evening meal served on the roof which is billed as something special with entertainment etc. and reservations made days ahead. The meal was very mediocre – not at all special. (We wondered whether we had been spoiled by the meals on Rovos Rail but decided that it was a truly mediocre meal).
Thanks you for all your work on this Michael.

More than we expected, Namibia
Hi Mike:
Adelaide (little Ongava manager) told us there were a group of travel agents coming in on Saturday. Should have guessed that one of them would be you.
The whole trip was great. The details are as follows; The Drakensbergs were awesome. Great hiking and excellent accommodation. The Boys Choir was super. A real bonus for us. South Africa needs to do a better job promoting the choir. Very few people have heard of it. Namibia was more that we expected. The topography and colour are absolutely unique. Continue reading
