At least 7 days are required in Botswana to fully appreciate the diversity of habitats and regions - the ideal itinerary would include the Moremi area, the Okavango Delta and the Linyanti/Chobe area. If you are visiting Botswana between January and May, then we highly recommend the inclusion of a camp in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, as this is when the desert comes to life.
This safari can easily be combined with Namibia, Victoria Falls or Zambia.

Katavi National Park is one of the great wildlife experiences of the world. Miles from anywhere, it has almost mythical status, and, it's thought, a greater density of mammals than any other Tanzanian reserve.
Chada Katavi Camp is ideally used in combination with Greystoke Mahale Camp on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, where tracking for chimpanzees is the order of the day.
The Selous Game Reserve, at a massive 50,000 kilometres square, (that's bigger than Belgium) is a wilderness on a huge scale - the largest, in fact, in the whole of Africa. Set on a wide curve of the great Rufiji River, Sand Rivers Selous is both expedition base, and safari retreat. The lodge is small but beautifully formed, with an imposing mess, swimming pool, excellent cooking and careful, at-your-whim service.
Sand Rivers is very accessible from Dar es Salaam and combines well with Zanzibar and a Serengeti safari.
Broad, languid and alternately fringed by riverine forest, Borassus palms and inundated floodplains, the Shire River is the country's largest river and sets the stage for an awesome wilderness spectacle - the Liwonde National Park. Mvuu Wilderness Lodge is located in this intriguingly beautiful place.
Abu allows guests the extraordinary privilege of being part of an African elephant herd, including riding and walking with them through the bush - possibly the ultimate elephant educational safari. Departures are every Tuesday and Saturday.
4 or 6 nights at two exceptional safari camps. Mashatu Tented Camp is in the Mashatu Reserve in southern Botswana and Pafuri Camp located in a private area in northern Kruger national Park in South Africa. Activities include game drives, safari walks, horse back rides, bird watching and outings with wildlife researchers.
Following game trails you will make a 12 day crossing of the immense wilderness of Tsavo, Kenya, in a true explorer's style safari. The route will take you along the courses of both the Tsavo and Galana Rivers, moving camp every day, and experiencing Africa's unique wildlife and birdlife. Tsavo is big game country: elephant, Cape buffalo, hippo, lion and leopard.
The camps are stylish, food is gourmet and camp staff have 25 years safari experience behind them.
Iain Allan of Tropical Ice has spent most of his life in Tsavo, and will guide every Great Walk departure.
Vehicles move the camp and personal belongings every day, and your days on Tsavo's rivers will be gloriously full: Walking the mornings; resting away the afternoons; game-driving the last hours of daylight in specially designed 4x4 safari vehicles.
This is truly one of Africa's finest adventures.
